Kensington Palace is apparently doing an awful job of convincing the public that Kate Middleton isn't dead or suffering from some other horrible fate, according to many online who have watched the Royal Family attempt to mitigate conspiracy theories about her absence from the public eye since a January abdominal surgery with numerous vague updates assuring the public that everything surrounding the Princess Of Wales is A-ok.

The palace's latest update on Princess Kate is that she is "working from home on a special project." According to the Palace and reported by the New York Post, that project is a campaign with the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood (RFCEC) called "Shaping Us," which aims to improve the development of newborn babies and young children.

This did little to dissuade conspiracy theories surrounding Kate's absence from the public eye, dubbed "Kategate," the most scandalous of which is that she's divorcing from Prince William due to the Prince's alleged infidelity with Sarah Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley.

Some wondered why the Palace revealed this information now, after weeks of confusion and theorizing, if Kate had been working on this "special project" since January and through February, as the Post reported.

For some, the update felt like yet another attempt by the Palace to obfuscate the truth of Middleton's absence, whatever it may be, from the public.

Two weeks ago, the Palace released a photo of Middleton and her children to the media that the press put a "kill notice" on due to evidence of digital manipulation.

The "special project" news was quickly met with further disbelief, as well as jokes and memes about what that "special project" really could be.

Of course, nothing is suggesting the Palace isn't telling the truth in this instance, but it appears it has little trust from the public. It seems the world should know an update about Middleton's whereabouts on March 31st, which is when the palace said Middleton should resume her public duties.
