The character premiered in an animated fan music video for The Living Tombstone's song "Basics in Behavior" posted by Kaaatie in March 2024, inspiring fan art and content over the following weeks.

Origin

On March 1st, 2024, YouTuber^[1] and animator Kaaatie posted a fan music video for The Living Tombstone's song "Basics in Behavior,"^[2] garnering over 2,1 million views in three weeks (shown below). In the video, which is animated in a paper style, a teacher named Miss Circle hunts down, kills and eats a student who fails her assigned test. The video is the first in a planned series by Kaaatie known as "Fundamental Paper Education."

The character became increasingly popular throughout March 2024, inspiring fan art and animations, most notably on sites including X and TikTok. For example, on March 13th and 15th, X^[3][4] users @NoV_A3 and @Sh1nn01 posted pieces of fan art that gained over 270 and 390 likes, respectively, in a week (shown below, left and right).

On March 16th and 17th, TikToker^[5][6] @itssorikpi and @rosesnposesnsuch posted memes featuring the character that gained over 1.4 million and 860,000 views, respectively, in four days (shown below, left and right). The former offers an example of her voice from the animation, while the latter is a meme in which a student answers a question wrong, resulting in their slaughter.

On March 19th, 2024, X^[7] user @IJNSFFMD posted a piece of fan art depicting Miss Circle that gained over 670 likes in a day (shown below). On the same day, TikToker^[8] @itsduckietime posted a video animating Miss Circle in 3D, garnering over 400,000 views in a day.
