One thing you might know about 2023's Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, a horror movie by Jagged Edge Productions that seemed to instantly take advantage of the expired IP of Winnie the Pooh by turning the beloved children's character into a slasher killer, is that it was widely considered very bad despite raking in a worldwide total of $5.2 million with its $100,000 budget.

In addition to having miserable critic and audience scores, The Razzies "awarded" the film the Razzies for Worst Picture, Director, Screenplay, Rip-off and On-screen Couple.

Despite the general populace's apparent revulsion to the film and the trend of instantly turning expired children's character IPs into horror movies, Jagged Edge Productions appears primed to continue making movies like this to the point that it will develop a cinematic universe of children's character serial killers, aka "The Twisted Childhood Universe," aka "The Poohniverse."

The Poohniverse

In addition to the already-announced sequel to Blood and Honey, it appears the "Poohniverse" will feature films centered around Peter Pan, Pinocchio and Bambi. The Mad Hatter, Sleeping Beauty and Tinkerbell will join the previously established slashers in a film called Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble in 2025.

Despite audience sentiment toward Blood and Honey, many had to admit that running with "Poohniverse," which may be a spicy double entendre, was worth a tip of the cap. Even Cr1TiKaL, who lambasted Blood and Honey after it released, admitted that the name was pretty good.

Cr1tikal's take Sold on the pooniverse

Of course, there's no guarantee that the films of the Poohniverse will be any better than Blood and Honey, but at the very least, Jagged Edge Productions has once again caught the attention of some of its harshest critics.
